you deserve a good death

Meet Jess

founder-end of life doula-professional organizer

A Maryland native now living in Athens, Georgia, I discovered my calling in End of Life care while living in Colorado. In 2015, I first learned about the role of a Death Doula—and instantly knew it was the path meant for me.

While death is often considered a taboo topic in American culture, I’ve always felt a deep sense of comfort and ease discussing it. Throughout my life, I’ve been passionate about helping others and have done so in a variety of ways. In 2019, I began working professionally as an organizer and have helped clients all around Athens, GA organize their physical space.

In 2023, I decided to infuse my organizing business with my passion for service and End of Life care, my detail-oriented and organized nature, and my deeply held belief that everyone deserves a good death to create Organizing Death.

.

Through this work, I can help you clarify your end-of-life goals, organize your belongings and assets, communicate your final wishes to loved ones, and support them in honoring those wishes—so you can leave this world knowing your legacy will be respected and remembered.

What Does a Death Doula Do?

Allow Jess to guide you through creating a death file while exploring the meaning of the dying person's life & legacy. How the space looks, feels, & sounds, honoring traditions or creating new rituals to mark special moments, and encouraging appropriate ways of touching the dying person are all options. Jess will bring a focused and intuitive presence to the bedside while assisting with physical and practical care to ease the burden on caregivers. She can help process the emotions and experiences with loved ones and support the spiritual practices of all involved, along with guiding people through the early stages of grieving.

As a Death Doula, one of my core passions is creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, reflect, and openly discuss topics that are often seen as taboo—death, grief, loss, and end-of-life planning. My goal is to help destigmatize these conversations and empower individuals to make informed, compassionate choices about their end-of-life journey.

To support this mission, I host a variety of community events designed to encourage dialogue, build connection, and offer practical guidance.
